Hi there! That is a water trough cover! We use tubs with lids and hubby cut the hole for access. In the winter the covered part is where the heating element goes and they can't get at it as easily. We had just cleaned the tubs and the lids weren't secured back on yet. You can see the other girls are a bit freaked out.
